An identified investigation
EPA’s public account describes a concern involving a mosquito-control pesticide and testing connected with its fluorinated HDPE packaging. That history explains why container treatment became a regulatory issue. It does not mean every pesticide or every plastic package was tested.
Distinguish product and package
A chemical may be present in a formulation, introduced through a package or absent above a method’s detection boundary in a particular sample. Those possibilities require different evidence. The agency’s packaging page includes test findings that should be read in their specific sample context.
The environmental follow-up
To connect a container finding with a real release, investigators would need distribution and use information, appropriate sampling and a defensible comparison. This article does not identify a contaminated field, household or water body caused by Inhance. It explains how the documented packaging concern created questions for further investigation.
